The effects of hidden terminals on the network's performance can be greatly reduced by using code division multiple access (CDMA) in multihop wireless networks.Code assignments are basic problems for using CDMA in the multihop wireless networks.The purposes of the code assignments are to improve the ratio of spatial reuse of spreading codes

to reduce the possibility of packet collisions and to response to the change of topology.In this paper

a new distributed algorithm is proposed to assign codes for dynamic

multihop wireless networks

and its correctness is proved.Its complexities are compared with those of other algorithms.Being different from the previous algorithms

which minimize the number of codes used

this algorithm is supposed that the number of spreading codes is enough.We seek for an algorithm

which is implemented easily

runs quickly

and reduces the cost of communication.
