Research on Embedded Video Compression Based on 3D-Wavelet Transformation
The Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT) coding method is extended to 3D video coding in this paper.The extended SPIHT (ESPIHT) is proposed.This method creates an embedded compressed bit stream that can be truncated to achieve a desired bit rate or a desired video quality.Furthermore
motion estimation and motion compensation are needless in this method.By theoretical analysis and a lot of simulations
it can be found that ESPIHT is very effective for video sequence coding
but its compression effectiveness is somewhat reduced when the complicated video sequence is coded.
