we show that the performance of conventional Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE) followed by Viterbi decoding for coded Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) channels may be improved significantly by iterative use of decoding information. At each iteration
DFE may outperform its original form since now feedback decisions are more reliable as some errors are corrected by Viterbi decoding. The proposed algorithms may find some practical applications since they have relatively low complexity.
