This paper reviews the recent studies on spatial characteristics of wireless channels with emphasis on experimental work.Some results and main features of the experiments are introduced

which could be references for further research.A novel experimental method is also proposed to overcome some practical difficulties.It is shown that the emerging high speed wireless communications have put their urgent requirements on more in-depth knowledge on spatial properties of wireless channel.
