<FONT face=Verdana>A new method to build a WDM multi-wavelength optical ring with Optical Burst Switching (OBS) technology is proposed
which is named as ‘Virtual Synchronized Optical Burst Ring' (VS-OBR). In VS-OBR the data channels are divided into length-fixed Data Burst Slots (DBS)
and to achieve a confliction-free and lossless data channel Media Access Control (MAC) scheme
these DBSs are kept in correspondence with the Burst Control Label running in the control channel through a Resilient Offset-Time Control mechanism. The bandwidth penalty of ROTC adjustment
maximum throughput under saturated load and delay performances are analyzed using theoretical and simulation methods
showing the feasibility and high bandwidth efficiency of VS-OBR.
