A new method for the transient analysis of transmission lines using the Chebyshev expansion based NILT is presented in this paper. The straightforward application of the method results in significant computational errors. The reason for this is investigated and two techniques to reduce the errors
one is the smoothing of the Chebyshev approximation by the use of the Lanczos factor
and the other the resetting of the NILT
are proposed.Illustrative examples are given and the results show that the method is more efficient than the previous convolution as well as NILT based approaches.
