Broadband Integrated Services Digital Networks (B ISDNs) adopt Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) as target transmission technology
with virtual path (VP) and virtual channel (VC) concepts introduced.In this paper
we propose a new VP routing algorithm based on Hopfield neural networks in B ISDN
set up the energy function and neuron state equation.Simulation shows that in accordance with the network topology and traffic pattern the proposed algorithm is both fast and effective to achieve VP routing and improve the network survivbility level.
