A new equvialent expression of the electromagnetic field in a conical waveguide is presented
by which the deviations of the calculated propagation constant and wave impedance from the exact values
the field components from the asympotic solution
are improved. It is especially of advantage for the prediction of the phase shift and the field charicteristics in the region of near cutoff of higher order modes
by which the problem of unintegral eigenvalues confronted in engineening design can be solved.
