A new Frame-based Packet Reservation Multiple Access(F-PRMA) protocol under time-division duplex is proposed for microcellular mobile networks. A three-state Markovian model of the F-PRMA system is developed based on Markov process theory. The performance of the protocol is analyzed by means of Equilibrium Point Analysis(EPA)
which was presented by Tasaka
and the important measures such as packet dropping probability
system throughput are derived. The effects of the system parameters and protocol variables on the efficiency of the multiple access protocol are examined through numerical analysis and system simulation.
