By the analysis of the shortcomings of the previous volume definitions of the wideband ambiguity function（WM）

a nedified WAF’s volume definition is first proposed. Secondly

in the wideband signal’s resolution analysis the timescale transform

freguency-seale transform and scale spectrum[1] are uesd and it is proved that the WBS’s range and velocity resolutions are determined by the WBS’s frequency spectrum and scale spectrum respectively. Fanally

sevaral kinds of signals are analysised by the method proposed in this paper

this provides an efficient analysing tool for the wideband signal processing.
