A modified extended coherent processing(MECP) method is proposed in this paper to reconstruct near-field microwave images of conducting objects which are mounted on a rotating platform. In the method
the results of range-Doppler (R-D) imaging in all subintervals of the total rotating angle are corrected for the near-field case and then coherently added together.The simulation results show that the MECP method not only needs less calculation but also is more efficient than the SBP algorithm.
