This paper reviews the propagation studies on personal communication with emphasis on microcell and indoor environment. Some results of experiments and theoretical researches including the works by Tsinghua University are introduced

which could be references for microcellular designers.It is shown that the emerging personal communications have put their urgent requirements on more accurate propagation characteristics in PCS environment.
