Eigenmode sequence for an elliptic waveguide with arbitrary eccentricity is studied by directively calculating modified Mathieu functions and their derivatives of the first kind. The normalized cutoff wavelegths of the lowest 100 successive modes are presented
and the curvefitting expressions for the determination of the cutoff wavelength of the 10 lowest order modes are given
which are valid for the eccentricity ranging from 0.0 to 1.0.
