The Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network （BISDN） is becoming the dominant research domain of ISDN and the broadband switching is one of the most difficult key technologies in it.This paper proposes a new design method to implement the broadband switching which is based on the Asynchronous Transfer Mode （ATM） and is able to provide integrated switching suitable for both broadband and narrowband communication services.
