可能存在有其它的信号分配形式达到最好的性能。
Abstract
A flexible structure of convolutional encoder is proposed for implementing trellis coded modulation (TOM). Best codes are searched in accordance with different cons-traint rules on signal assignment. Results show that for Gaussian channels
when the number of trellis state is small
Ungerboeck’s rule is the necessary condition for obtaining the optimal codes
when the number increases
different rules may exist for achieving the best performance.
