摘要

本文论述了关系图象数据库管理系统IMDAT所使用的扩充的关系数据库模式及其实现。该模式使用数据的物理值和逻辑值的概念。基于这种模式的扩充的域演算和过程管理的方法

使得IMDAT系统不但能够象通常的关系数据库系统一样管理一般的文字和数字

还能管理用不同编码方式编码的图象数据和向量

同时实现了相似检索。

Abstract

A model for the extended relational database system

which is used for the relational image database management system IMDAT

and its implementation are described. The concepts of logic value and physical value of data are used in this model. Owing to the extended domain operation and process managing method of such model

the IMDAT system is not only capable of managing ordinary characters and numbers as conventional relational database system

but also can manage image data and vectors coded by different coding methods

thereby effecting the similarity retrieval.
