. Analytic expressions for u and its derivatives of single-mode fibers with power-law index profile have been derived
which offers an alternative approach of direct dispersion calculation for these fibers. This method could be extended to fibers with piecewise analytically expressable index profile. Fiber parameters for zero-dispersion are also discussed in brief.
