Abstract
A generalized formula is given for the expressions of the first kind of dyadic Green’s functions for rectangular
circular and axial waveguides
and on this basis
the dyadic Green’s functions for the corresponding semi-infinite waveguides are derived by image method. The method used and the results obtained can apply to any cylindrical waveguides with arbitrary cross section. In addition
a formula is developed for calculating the electrical fields of a tiny exciting probe in a semi-infinite rectangular waveguide.
