本文对锌汞电池所用原料在氢氧化钾溶液中的化学行为进行了分析
指出了锌在强碱溶液中的自溶;正极氧化汞中残存的硝酸亚汞在碱溶液中的不稳定性以及正、负极活性物质量的比例等因素与爆炸有关。已找到该种电池三种爆炸原因: ①原料氧化汞中残存未完全分解的硝酸亚汞 ②负极锌粉过量 ③锌粉末汞齐化 并以实验证明上述三种原因均会引起电池内部压力迅速增长而使电池发生爆炸。
In view of the basic chemical behavior of raw materials used in mercury cell
the factors in relationship with explosion is as follows: The self-dissolution of zinc in alkaline solutions; the unstable characteristics of residual mercurous nitrate in the mercuric oxide; and the ratio of positive and negative active materials.Three explosion-factors have been revealed:(a) The undecomposed mercurous nitrate is remained in mercuric oxide.(b) The equivalent quantity of zinc powder is over that of mercuric oxide.(c) The poor amalgamation of zinc powder.The experimental results showing that all the above three factors may resulted in the quick elevation of the pressure in the cell which caused the explosion of the cell.
