an alternate routing algorithm is proposed for the problem of routing and assignment of wavelength in Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) optical transport network.It can more accurately model the state of the whole network after the establishment of new calls than other alternate algorithms proposed before.The route-wavelength pair which has the least influence on the state of the whole network is chosen to accommodate the coming call.The algorithm performs better than other alternate routing algorithms in most cases we studied.Fairness is improved significantly too.
