Motion compensation is the key technique for synthetic aperture sonar (SAS)
and it is normally realized in SAS systems based on multi receiving arrays and their cross correlation.A new motion compensation method based on single receiving array and strong scatterer is presented in the paper.Moreover
computer simulations based on the derived model for sway error are given
and results of simulation and lake test show the validity of the proposed motion compensation method.
