A simulation approach was proposed to analyze the spectra of Doppler signals from the steady flow within a stenosed vessel. The vorticity transportation and stream function equations were used to calculate the velocity distribution within the stenosed vessel. The spectral power density function of Doppler signals was estimated at variant positions along the vessel. The maximum frequency
the mean frequency and the spectral bandwidth were calculated from the spectra
which were used to analyze the characteristics of Doppler signals from stenosed vessels with different degrees of stenoses and flow velocities.
