Ground moving target indicator (GMTI) using space based sparse array is attractive.Unfortunately
grating lobes come with sparse array.Theoretical analysis and experimental reuslts show that grating lobes cause "blind speeds" and "false targets".A simple method for mitigating the angle ambiguity effects on GMTI performance is presented in this paper.The element positions of uniform array are randomized to reduce blind speed zones.Then the so called "nulling space time adaptive processing (STAP)" method is used to suppress false targets.Experimental results illustrate that the method is robust and effective.
