The techniques based on digital signal processing have been applied to analyze and identify the genes in a DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) sequence.According to period 3bp (base pair) of gene sequences
a new FIR (finite impulse response) digital filter with narrow band-pass response was proposed to predict protein coding regions.The prediction curve of exons was obtained by processing the DNA sequence.Compared with the existing IIR (infinite impulse response) digital filter
the FIR filter can yield better results.
