The optimal baseline of polarimetric interferometric synthetic aperture radar(POLinSAR)is analyzed based on the random volume over ground(RVoG)model in the application of estimating parameters of the volume scatterers.Based on the basic concepts of baseline decorrelation
RVoG model and phase tube
the existence of POLinSAR optimal baseline is proved.Then the definition of POLinSAR optimal baseline is given and the method for calculating its value is derived.The differences between InSAR optimal baseline and POLinSAR optimal baseline are also presented.Finally
by the experimental simulation
the optimal baseline is validated and the effects of various parameters on the choice of optimal baseline are discussed
which include radar system parameters
imaging geometry parameters and volume scatterer parameters.
