a miniaturized frequency selective surface (FSS) is presented. In this kind of FSS
each periodic cell consists of a ring slot loaded with ceramic chip capacitors for reducing the cell size
and Faraday Cage structure is introduced to eliminate the disturbance between unit cells. The loaded FSS has been analyzed and empirical formulas for calculating resonance frequency in the range of 1~4GHz is presented. The miniaturized FSS with high transmission at 2.45GHz has been designed by the empirical formulas. The dimension of the proposed FSS is miniaturized to 34 percent in comparison with the traditional FSS. The simulation and experimental result indicate that the loaded FSS has good polarized characteristic and very good stability to oblique incidence.
