To obtain an extremely high accurate surface precision and the electromagnetic performances
the large space parabolic antennas with truss structures should have special characteristics.A mechatronic optimization design model of space antenna structures is developed for the improvement of the electromagnetic performances
which adopts the axial gain of antenna and power consumption of actuators as the objective functions
and the material strength of bars and actuator’s mechanical capability as constraint conditions.The two applications of optimization model to truss antenna structures demonstrate the potential for the significant improvement of antenna performances.The analysis results indicate the benefit of including the electrical performance in optimization model for necessary effort for shape control of large space antenna reflectors.
