a novel phased array radiating element for use in wide-angle scanned plannar slot array is discussed. The important problems in array design-characteristics of asymmetric single ridge waveguide are studied with FD-TD method. Some waveguide properties such as electromagnetic field distribution.travelling wavelength and radiation characteristics are obtained. Furthermore. the relationship between alers characteristics and the degree of asymmetric is founded. The results are investigated for the design of wide-angle scanned planar slot phased array.
