The performance for ATM multiplexer under integrated Service and with bursty traffic which is shaped is analyzed.It is proposed that the shaper output process can be approximately described as interrupted Bernoulli Process(IBP). With an improved iterative algorithm
the cell loss probability and the average delay for ATM multiplexer are exactly calculated. The results show that by the choice of appropriate shaper parameters
the cell loss probability is greatly improved
moreover
the cell average delay is small. The correctness of the analyses is verified by the simulations.
