This paper discusses issues in the design and implementation of a language named DC++（distributed C++）. The language is upward-compatible to C++

and its basic building block is process

a class with its own thread of control. DC++ supports both the synchronous and asynchronous communication models and provides the programmer with various facilities for process communication purposes. The group concept allows the programmer to consider a collection of processes as a unique entity

and provides an interface between them and the outside world.
