This paper puts forward to a multi- structure element technique for morphological shape decomposition. Its performances are beffer than single ones’. The basis of the method proposed relies upon the generaton of set of non-over lapping segments of an image via repeated basic morphological operations. The maximum core decomposition is chosen to guarantee the uniqueness. The searching scheme for optimal decomposition is based on heuristic search strategy. The image coding via morphotogical transformation is also discussed and the experimental results have shown the greot advantages of multi-element technique.
