How to load the island wire antennas with impedance or resistance to obtain the travelling-wave currents is the problem which this paper deals with. The formulas are proposed to determine the antennas loading with impedance or resistance. Compared with the conventional trial-and-error method or Rahmat-Sarnii’s optimization procedure

these formulas make the numerical computations easy and need the least computing time. The results calculated by the formulas agree very well with the conventional methods.
