Abstract

A dual-band rectangular microstnp patch antenna with an electrically snort-circuited wall is introduced

which radiates a single broadside lobe for two bands and has a half reduction in size as compared with the coventional rectangular patch. Some design and manufacture guidelines are discussed. It is shown that the ratio of two resonant frequencies can be changed from 1: 3 to more than 1:1.8 by inserting electrically shorting pins.
