A type of programmable Doppler filter bank using second-order recursive implementation with charge-coupled devices (CCD) as delay lines is developed for application to Radar MTD system. The agreement between measurements and theoretical calculations is encouraging. Two kinds of configuration which give the same algorithm are discussed. Errors in center frequency and bandwidth of the filter which arise from the accuracy of the MDAC coefficients are evaluated. In addition
a detailed account of the Smear effect caused by imperfect CTE as a function of loop gain
transfer inefficiency and number of transfers is developed
and a technique reducing Smear is suggested. The performance of modified filter-banks is introduced.
