The FM noise measurement system using a delay line discriminator is presen-ed
its measurement principle is discussed
and some main formule are given. This system can be operated on the frequency 1GHz to 6GHz. At 2GHz
it is easy to get the measurement threshold of the frequency deviation about 0. 1Hz/Hz (when f>lkHz). When the low-noise amplifier is used
this threshold can be of the order of magnitude of 0.01Hz/Hz. Using this system
the optimal PLL bandwidth of a phase-locked oscillator can be adjusted easily. The example and results of this adjustment are given.
