The finite-difference method is used in the study of the electrical behaviors of ring and cylindrical dielectric resonators
which are placed on dielectric substracts and shielded by metallic cases. The resonant frequency is calculated as a function of the system parameters
and the curves of the field strength variation and the contours of individual field components are ploted. The numerical results are verified by experiments
showing a deviation of less than one percent.
