A new type of four-frequency parametric converter is designed according to the different roles of the frequency components in the process of frequency trasformation. A small signal analysis is conducted
giving the conditions for conversion gain
for stable operation and for resonance. The resonant conditions define the requirements for the circuits and nonlinear elements in the realization of the new down converter.
