A new digital convolution method based on FNT-WFTA compound algorithm is presented
which is suitable for applications involving large pulse outputs such as in the pulse compression of radar signals. The advantages of this method are shown by theoretical analysis and computer simulation. With basically the same input dynamic range
this method’s convolution length and peak value can be N2 (Where N2 is the length of WFTA)times those of FNT without overflow
the number of times for multiplication is only 40% and 60% of those of FFT and WFTA respectively
but the output amplitude (unweighted) is basically the same.
