Two improvements are proposed for the two calculating models of permanent magnets: the scalar potential model and the vector potential model
by which a surface density of fictitious magnetic monopoles (or surface bound current density) invariable with the operating point
is substituted for the volume density
and the definition of reluctivity in the vector potential model is modified accordingly
so that the calculation and computer program can be simplified. The improved models have proved out by experiments and computation.
