High speed data rate due to the improvement of frequency band of microwave radiometer gives a great challenge to design the backend of microwave radiometer. A method of a combination of polyphase filterbanks structure and advanced FFT structure was presented to solve this problem. This paper gave the design and key implementation of this method
compared result of mathematical method on MATLAB and that of implementation on FPGA. The results match each other well
which means that this method can work in designing high speed digital spectrometer. It is new in the design of backend of microwave radiometer used to achieve broadband measurement of atmosphere. It is flexible to change the design of backend to share different front ends of microwave radiometer at low time and financial cost. At the same time
it is a good resolution to realize high speed digital spectrometer.
