According to the characteristic of bistatic SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar). The effect of phase errors due to random motion errors on the resolution of airborne bistatic SAR is analyzed. For zero mean random motion errors,an analytical result of rms (root mean square) resolution is derived.Based on the derived model,in the bistatic SAR system with random motion errors,Gaussian function is found to be the optimum weighting function on azimuth processing and the best achievable rms resolution is obtained in closed form.Simulation results show the availability of the proposed solution.
