The variations of object's reflection light induced from illumination variations and uneven illumination distribution greatly reduce the detecting efficiency in the process of color object detection.The most familiar effects of illumination on color object detection are abrupt intensity changes and uneven illumination distribution in detection region.In this paper
the basic process of formation of color is studied and the fact that simple functions can approx imate corresponding sensor functions fairly well in many applications is presented.And a limited dimension vector quantizing the illumination variations is used to compensate the pixels color
so as to improve the adaptability to illumination variations.Its rationality is proved by practical application.
