The paper investigates the performance of soft decision Viterbi decoding for convolutional codes in Rayleigh fading channels by using a new scheme that combines interleaving technique
soft output of the channel and the information about the channel.The formulations for computing the soft decision metrics with or without Channel State Information (CSI) are presented and the performance gains are demonstrated.In addition
we discuss the influences of quantizer thresholds on the decoding performance.The results are compared with the corresponding conclusions in AWGN channels.
