In this paper

we briefly introduce several methods for spatial error concealment

and then propose the algorithm of multi-directional and variable-interval interpolation for spatial error concealment.The proposed method chooses both interpolation directions and reference area according to the edge feature of the neighboring blocks.The experimental results show that the quality of the image processed using the proposed error concealment method is significantly improved.
