A convenient and efficient approach of removing the spurious DC modes in three-dimensional finite-element solution for modeling complex cavity is proposed.This method is based on higher-order hierarchical basis functions.Application of this approach results in a robust
accurate and efficient eigenmode solver of complex cavity which significantly saves the memory as well as computational time compared with the commercial electromagnetic software.
