Orthogonal waveform is the most widely used waveform in multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar systems.The good performance in both auto-correlation and cross-correlation of transmitted orthogonal waveform is crucial for MIMO radar.In order to overcome the deficiency in auto-correlation performance of orthogonal frequency division-linear frequency modulation (OFD-LFM) signals
this paper proposes the model of orthogonal frequency division-nonlinear frequency modulation (OFD-NLFM) signals.The design method of OFD-NLFM signals for MIMO radar is also presented.Simulation results show that OFD-NLFM signals have better performance in both auto-correlation and cross-correlation compared with OFD-LFM signals.
